Station 34 visited students and faculty at Hamilton Bicentennial School today. This is the first year Station 34 was invited by Cuddebackville Fire Department and the school to participate in Fire Prevention day. Assistant Chief Lattimer along with Firefighters E. Mesnick, Taggert and Guerra spoke to students about fire prevention, gave them a tour of 34-11 and showed them equipment that firefighters use. We would like to thank Chief Sean Aumick and HBE for inviting us to take part in such an important day.
Remember to always test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, change batteries in detectors when you set the clocks ahead/back, know 2 ways out of your house in case of fire, have an area outside your family meets in case of a fire, have fire extinguishers on every floor of your house and teach your children to stop, drop and roll if their clothes catch on fire.
Contact Station 34 for any questions on fire safety at chief@westbrookvillefire.org or your local fire department.
