This morning Firefighter Kris Bloom started his journey to Fort Benning, Georgia. Kris enlisted for 3.5 years and will be training for Airborne Infantry. The week before Kris left, the members threw him a going away party and a good time was had by all.
By the time 2010 ended, Station 34 Firefighters answered the second most calls in our Company's 63 year history. The Company responded to 91 emergency calls. It was our busiest year for responses to working fires, including mutual aid calls.

This afternoon the retired Heavy Rescue arrived at her new home in Conway, Arkansas. The firefighters have been very pleased with their Heavy Rescue. Next week it goes for lettering and will be placed in service.
Retired 34-61 will be heading to her new home in Conway, Arkansas. The Rescue will be placed back in service by the Highway 286 East Fire Department in Conway, Arkansas. This truck was given to us a very reduced rate by the Hillcrest Fire Company in Rockland County, New York.
Station 34 won 2nd Place Best Appearing Small Dress Company at the Sullivan County Firefighters Parade. The Parade was hosted by the Bloomingburg Fire Company. 34-11 was the apparatus in the Parade. Congratulations to the firefighters who readied the 34-11 and marched in the Parade.
Chief Tunno departed from New York on Thursday to bring home the newest addition to the fleet. Our 1999 Pierce Mini-Pumper was purchased today from the Beaver Creek Metro Division in Beaver Creek, Colorado, which is located west of Vail, Colorado.

Station 34 put the new 34-61 in service. We purchase the truck from the Sloatsburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps. in Rockland County NY. The truck was repainted by Jerry's Collision in Wurtsboro NY to match the rest of the Station 34 fleet with our signature Metallic Silver over Red.
Firefighter Jeff Elder has joined the Station 34 family this week. Jeff has been placed on active status. Jeff comes to us with a wealth of experience as he has been a firefighter with the Port Jervis Fire Department for many years.

Santa arrived just after noon today on 34-51. Local children waited patiently at the Station to see Santa before his big night. All the children were able to talk to Santa and was given an early gift. The auxiliary put together another fine day for the local children.
