At 13:05hrs Station 34 was dispatched for a structure fire on Pine Kill Road near Upper Pine Kill Road. Otisville Fire Department was also dispatched on Automatic Mutual Aid. 34-1 arrived on scene to find a smoke condition in the structure with fire in the chimney. The fire appeared to be in the wall and the Chief called an additional Tanker from Wurstboro to the scene and an Engine from Wurtsboro to stand by Station 34. The Chief also advised 53 Control to have 34-51 roll as the first due Engine as the structure was across the Pine Kill Stream and the private bridge would not handle the larger apparatus. 34-51 arrived first on scene an laid a 3" supply line into the scene. 34-31 responded second due and picked up the supply line. The Chief ordered the rear 1.75" foam line off 34-51 and into the structure. Crews began to open up the walls and put dry chemical baggies down the chimney. Otisville crews went to the roof and assisted inside. The crew from Wurtsboro's Tanker also assisted inside the structure. The crews did extensive overhaul to pull out the fireplace insert.
34-1, 34-31, 34-51, Otisville Tower-140, E-142, TA-145, 39-12, 39-31 and OC 36-9 responded. Mamakating First Aid Squad stood by at the scene. All units were back in service at 15:19hrs.
